About Us
Our Help Desk serves as the hub for most of your computer needs.
We have consultants and technicians available to help you with
hardware and software installation, hardware and software problems,
network access, and other ISU computer-related problems.
The Help Desk is staffed with four professional staff members;
student workers and additional staff. Our main goal is to provide
consistent accurate computer support to the ISU faculty, staff and
student user community.
The Help Desk focuses on troubleshooting and resolving computer
related issues from students and remote users after normal business
hours.
Due to the heavy call volume at the start of each semester
(approximately the first 6-8 weeks) the focus of the Help Desk is to
meet the heavy call volume then track and dispatch any issues that
cannot be resolved within five minutes. After the first 6-8 weeks of
the semester, the Help Desk focuses on resolving more issues over
the phone, spending up to 20 minutes per call, before dispatching.
The advantage is that the users have issues resolved quickly,
however this may also mean longer waiting periods on the phone while
other users are being assisted.
The Help Desk is available by phone on:
Monday – Thursday – 7:30am to Midnight.
Friday – 7:30 a.m. to
4:30 p.m.
Saturday – 8:00am to Noon.
Sunday – 3:00pm until 7:00pm.
