Cisco Clean Access

The Office of Information Technology has implemented the Cisco Clean Access network security system in all residence halls and the University wireless network. The main features of this system include user authentication, vulnerability assessment and remediation. In other words, when accessing the network from residence halls and the University wireless network the Cisco Clean Access system requires network users to log in and checks the PC for computer viruses and other vulnerabilities before granting full network access.

If you are attempting to connect to the network with a compliant PC, after downloading the Cisco Clean Access Agent you must simply provide your Sycamore Login and Password in order to gain network access. If you attempt to access the network with a non-compliant PC, you are provided instructions for obtaining the necessary patch/fix in order to make your computer compliant.

NOTE: Oftentimes, periods of network degradation are the result of virus-infected or severely compromised student computers accessing the network.  As a result, OIT implemented the Cisco Clean Access security system to maintain up-to-date student computers to help prevent these outages from taking place.

See the Tips to Install Software, Trouble Shooting Guide, and FAQ to help you if you get stuck.

The Help Desk is also available to help you through this process. Please contact the Help Desk if you have any questions.
