Sycamore Login Password Self Service FAQ
Effective July 7, 2008
·
Why is this being changed?
o
The number one reason is security. This will enable you to create at
least an eight character password and eliminate the use of a weaker six
character password.
Secondly, this moves ISU toward the capability of single sign-on
(logging in only one time, but having access to all systems).
·
I just set my security question and answer before July 7, do I have to
set it again?
o
Yes. Due to the new system being implemented everyone will have to redo
their security questions and answers the first time they log into MyISU
starting July 7.
·
Will I still be able to access Novell and GroupWise if I do not set my
questions and answers?
o
Yes.
·
How long will it take to synchronize my passwords through the system?
o
This should take approximately 60 seconds, but could take longer during
busy times especially during the initial change on July 7. If your
password does not reset within 15 minutes, please contact the Help Desk
at x2910.
·
If I do not log into MyISU do I have to change my security
questions and answers?
o
No. You will not be prompted to change your questions and answers if you
do not log into MyISU. Only on the first attempt to log into MyISU will you be required to complete your security questions and
answers.
·
Which passwords will be synchronized?
o
This will synchronize your passwords to MyISU (including Banner Self
Service), GroupWise, Netware, Blackboard, Cisco Clean Access, WPA, and
the library EZ Proxy System.
·
What is password synchronization?
o
This allows you to create a single password that will automatically
become your password for MyISU (including Banner Self Service),
GroupWise, Netware, Blackboard, Cisco Clean Access, WPA, and the library
EZ Proxy System
·
Will this change my Banner log in?
o
No. This will not affect your Banner password.
·
What is single sign-on?
o
The ability to log in one time and have access to all systems that you
have rights for. This capability
will be available at a later date.
